Whatever the dose, TTP is not a common side effect of plavix. If this side effect happens, it usually occurs in the first 2 weeks and within the first month. The risk is 0.41% (around 1 case of TTP in 250 plavix takers) in phase IV clinical study of FDA data. So if you have any concern, just have your platelet count checked after 4 weeks of use or sooner if you have unusual bleeding.
