I would not be afraid. This type of procedure can help determine if there is any trauma, or stricture to your urethra. Not a big deal.

I wonder if you have a history of sexual transmitted disease. With this test, urologist wants to make sure your urethra anatomy is normal, not the cause of your dysuria (pain with voiding or post voiding). There is mild discomfort when contrast is injected into the urethra but it is a very short time, there is nothing to scare. Good luck with the test and wish you a quick recovery.
