If you're fair, light skinned, or have many birthmarks, I would recommend having a skin survey (get naked and have a dermatologist look at your skin) with a dermatologist once a year just to evaluate for any *changes* in said birthmarks. Concerning signs are asymmetry, border being irregular, color being uneven, diameter larger than 6mm and evolving (changing size/shape/color).

Seeing your doc will be best as surveillance will be needed regardless, do not try to self diagnose as that can exacerbate anxiety.

You may watch and wait. If any of the moles doubles in size, becomes irregular in size, shape or color, bleeds, ulcerates or develops a nodule, see a doctor. Wish you good health!

It is a good idea to get moles checked out if you are concerned about them, particularly if they are changing in size, color, or shape. You should see your primary care doctor or a dermatologist. Good luck.
