My 40 yo son has had chronic abdominal cramping. he had a colostomy 7 years ago and they said he had twisted bowel and unable to continue? he was awake during this. he has freq cramping, feeling he needs to have a bm and worried he leaks gas/smells?

We would need more detail to be able to successively diagnose or to arrange more testing for your son’s abdominal symptoms. He may have irritable bowel syndrome, but there are many other possibilities. He should see his primary care doctor or a gastroenterologist for further evaluation. He may try a supplement of fiber in the meantime, along with extra liquids. Good luck.
