Hi, i got my results from a pulmonologist and need it interpreted. it says "the reduced diffusing capacity indicates a moderately severe loss of functional alveolar capillary surface." im 22 and complained of chest tightness and shortness of breath?

Your results show a Moderately severe decrease in the function of your lungs. What we cannot tell from what you have quoted is the cause of this problem, and hence what the treatment should be. You should return to your pulmonologist for further explanation, or you might consider a second opinion , in addition. Given this problem’s severity, I would not ignore it. Good luck.
