My down syndrome 6 yr old child still has softness on his fontanelle.is this normal?

Let me put it this way. I don’t think that the situation is abnormal. Have you asked the Pediatrician.

I would bring it up at the kids' next doctor visit. I consider any softness in the DS kids skull at age 6 unusual if not a potential sign of a problem. It is not a run to the urgent care type of issue but one his doc should evaluate.

Please discuss with your specialist. It is unusual for the fontanelle to be soft at this age. Watch for signs of fever and pain
