If your doctor uses a reliable manual sphymomanometer, you can bring your digital manometer in for comparison and I have done that many times for my patients. The difference of +/- 10 mmHg for systolic pressure and +/- 5 mmHg for diastolic pressure is adequate for home monitoring. Manual manometers of Tycos or Welch Allyn brand are reliable.
