A member asked:

I accidentally took 91mgs of iron and im 35 weeks pregnant. slightly low iron, will this affect my baby at all? im 204 pounds if that matters?

No. Your body will process the iron you took and take what it needs/discard the rest. Baby will get only what it needs from the placenta. This is not enough to be toxic.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. Actually, taking oral iron supplements is a common practice during pregnancy and will help with your low iron and help the baby acquire sufficient iron stores.
