How long does it take for the eardrum to heal after myringotomy, and is it normal if the eardrum is red? i still have a cough with phlegm?

Irritation of the ear drum may cause cough and is often associated with congestion.Post nasal drip may contribute to your symptoms. Healing time varies and can take weeks. Nasal saline rinses are often effective in reducing post nasal drip. Watch for signs of fever, drainage and pain. Please follow up with your physician.
