You should never take more than 3000mg of Tylenol in any 24 hour period. So, you need to see how much acetaminophen is in Alkaseltzer-if it is more than 500mg in the amount you will be taking, then you cannot take it. Good luck!

Agree with Dr. Ferranti. It is imperative that you refrain from taking alcohol. Alka seltzer does not contain acetaminophen/Tylenol and taking it would not add to the dose of acetaminophen. Look at the list of ingredients to make sure that the preparation you are using does not contain acetaminophen.
