Can i use canesten cream when i have genital herpes? (i also have thrush as well and have been using the cream not knowing if it makes the herpes worse or not?

In general, it's best to keep herpes lesions dry to speed healing, but it probably doesn't make much difference. Stop the Canesten if your herpes seems to be healing more slowly than normal. won't have any effect on the herpes. Or ask your doctor for a prescription for fluconazole (Diflucan), a single pill by mouth that is equally effective against yeast as the vaginal treatments.
