Would irbesartan (avapro) and/or telmisartan (micardis) arb medications interact with clopidogrel (plavix)? would either of those effect the anti platelet effect of plavix or metabolism ? using for hbp and stroke risk reduction after 2 previous strok?

No interaction between plavix and these angiotensin receptor blockers. Yes, you can use plavix for stroke risk reduction when taking either irbesartan or telmisartan.

ARB's are often used in patients who take plavix for ischemic heart disease & old strokes. Some studies have demonstrated that ARBs actually have an antiplatelet activation effect. Your pharmacist may have more information on this topic for you.
