It’s never normal to be constipated, but if it is a recurring issue around the time of menses, then it may be related to your menstrual cycle.

Although it is not necessarily normal, having constipation at the time of your menses is not uncommon at all. You may want to consider increasing your fluid intake and increasing fiber intake, in addition. These simple measures may help with the constipation around that time. Good luck.
