A member asked:

I have recurring boils on buttocks. they hurt for a day or so, but then they get smaller and pain subsides. if i went to a doc and got antibiotics would they go away forever? or should i just manage on my own since symptoms are fairly mild?

Antibiotics would not “cure them forever” because something else is causing them to form. Are you sitting all day? Are they assorted with ingrown hairs? Is there any underlying diabetes? An evaluation by your primary care doctor or dermatology is a good idea.
