See below:: Prp is platelet rich plasma, which is obtained by spinning your blood in a tube, and then injected around the site of the lesion, whether its patellar tendon or elsewhere. Its being used for the last several years, for various diagnoses, and seems to be helpful in most patients. It can be repeated as needed.

Platelet rich plasm: You take blood from patient and centrifuge until you have the prp. This is injectedin joint or area of pain. Over weeks to months it will recruit stem cells to heal the area. No side effects since it is your own blood. Not experimental as there is plenty of data available.

PRP: is an excellent therapy for patellar tendonitis. The research is early but it is not experimental. It is safe, and in small studies, has been shown effective. I see you are nearby. I can provide this treatment if interested. Dr. Lebowitz World Wellness Health Institute (610) 228-0400. www.WorldWellnessHealth.com
