Brain metastases from Melanoma are fairly common. These come in varied forms in terms of the number and the the size of metastatic tumors. The survival is influenced by the tumor load. Survival time from metastatic widespread melanoma is actually highly variable, as often demise is secondary to liver involvement, and the tendency for brain lesions to bleed could result in rapid death. The prognosis is not necessarily good, and usually quoted is a survival rate under 6 months.
