A member asked:

I have had a high pth and a high tsh. how can this be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PTH is a product of parathyroid gland, and depending on the level you may need investigation for parathyroid adenoma. TSH is a product of the pituitary gland and will be elevated if your thyroid is under-functioning. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests as all laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position
