A member asked:

Ive been waking up and checking my temperature and its been reading 99.0 on one side of my mouth and 98.7 on the other. is that normal? im 2 weeks late on my period (not pregnant.) i have pcos. im not sure if that matters?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Slight variation in oral temperature is not unusual. If PCOS has been diagnosed, it is not unusual to have irregular periods, so obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about pregnancy, and see your GYN physician and ask about oral bcp, which are usual treatment for PCOS patients, to reduce the potential for abnormal cells to develop in the uterine lining.
