Pregnancy unlikely: If a woman has one negative home pregnancy test, done 1 week after missing a period, she is most likely not pregnant. If she is worried, she can repeat the test one week later.

Unlikely: If you did the tests correctly and the results were negative at week after missed period, you are unlikely to be pregnant. You may repeat the test in 4-5 days, if you do not get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
