Help! i had an exposure 6 months ago, and i am scared of hiv. at 4.5 months i had cold/flu symptoms. after the symptoms resolved i got a rapid hiv test and it was negative. if my symptoms were due to hiv, would it have shown a positive result?

If the rapid HIV test used was good then there was enough time for changes in the body to pick up HIV infection at the time you had the test.
