Is a fit test a colon cancer screening?

Yes it is, however there are false positives and false negatives. If you have a family hx of colon cancer or familial polyposis, you should have a colonoscopy. Remember, if fit was done for screening it is covered by insurance but if it is positive and you need a colonoscopy the the colonoscopy is considered diagnostic and not a screening and subject to your deductibles.
