A member asked:

Can i have an allergic reaction if someone reheats shellfish in the same room as me (using a microwave)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Once the shellfish is removed from the microwave small particulates can be released into the air. If you are close enough to the shellfish than you can inhale the allergen, causing a reaction. Be aware and keep your medication handy.
