A member asked:

Can a person be resuscitated after being eletrocuted by a toaster in a bathtub? what would that entail?

The source of electricity has to be turned off first . The subject should be removed from water if he/she is submerged in water, in the bath tub. Resuscitation can be started soon after fast drying the chest clear of water (for application of the pacer pads ) .

The resuscitation protocol includes consideration for drowning and it is the same with specific precautions for the rescue team in order not to be electrocuted.
