A member asked:

Would 5mg of eliquis twice a day be enough off the bat to treat a pulmonary embolism? or do you have to do 10mg twice a day?

An embolism would be treated by surgical removal, not by a daily drug. Perhaps you are asking the wrong question about why this drug is used.

The Eliquis is used to prevent pulmonary embolisms, not to treat the effect following an embolic lung event.
