While many clinicians believe that aspirin is good protection against DVT development post surgery, I wouldn't bank on it. Aspirin can protect well against clots in arterial blood but it's still debatable whether it's good protection against venous blood clots. In high risk situations,I favor true anticoagulant use. Aspirin in a very low risk situation is probably ok. Let your MD advise you.
