A member asked:

Daughters uvula is stuck to one tonsil. she has always had large tonsils, but since having strep at halloween it has been stuck to one side that is much larger. no sore throat or symptoms. but does snore, could that be related?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Snoring is related to the overall large size of the tonsils & adenoids at that age. By the time the kid reaches 8-10 their body grows faster than the T&A's and they become relatively smaller. Then most stop snoring. The uvula can participate, but would not be the cause. The random attachment to one side or another has little importance and should return to a normal configuration over time.
