I cut myself on a kitchen knife, and got a small cut. i washed my hand and continued to prepare food with the same knife (i couldn't see blood on it). my son ate the food (salami) that i cut with the same knife. can hpv be transmitted this way?

The salt in the salami may have helped protect him. Usually takes body fluids containing virus to get into blood stream. So if no sores in mouth OK for blood to get into no worries. Please wear gloves from now on. The do make wire ones to keep from cutting your self.

HPV is not a bloodborne germ like some forms of hepatitis. Its transmission is skin to skin when someone has a skin wart or other form of HPV. I wouldn't worry about passing it in the cited circumstance.
