A member asked:

Im male. my symptoms are my body cant cool itself in the heat, i cant slow my breath down after exertion, and i have chronic thirst and fatigue. i also get bad muscle cramping. my thyroid tests are normal. can this be another hormone issue?

In addition to a complete physical examination & thyroid tests I trust you've had an EKG, cbc& diff, urinalysis and a complete metabolic panel of blood tests which would include electrolytes. A magnesium level may have to be ordered separately. Referral to a cardiologist & endocrinologist may be then advised.

Have you had previous heat injury? Say in military. If so this can predispose to body cooling problems. I assume you sweat OK. Discuss with your Dr.
