A member asked:

Having saline us to just tofollow a possible uterine polyp. in the past doctors said it must be done between cycle day 6-11 before ovulation so uterus is clearer to see. now i'm being told it can be done anytime unless it's for fertility issues. true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Saline injected for ease of evaluation of an intrauterine polyp should be done absent any vaginal bleeding, so a better exam is possible. If no vaginal (uterine origin) bleeding, the exam should be adequate to evaluate the polyp.
