What's the best way to get advice for organic brain syndrome, not alzheimer's related?

Specializes in Psychiatry

Get an evaluation: Organic brain syndrome is an older term for what's now called either delirium or dementia -- conditions which cause either acute or chronic changes in cognitive functioning and mental status. There are many causes for each, some treatable and some less successfully so. You can have a detailed evaluation with a psychiatrist, along w/neurocognitive testing w/psychologist. Diagnostic studies too.

You are wrong: Organic brain syndrome does not exist, that is just an old name for alzheimer's disease and other dementias. How do you know that your symptoms are not Alzheimer's related?
