This appears to be a classic sprain of the ankle joint. If there's no swelling or discoloration, it isn't severe. Ice it off&on, elevate your leg while sitting. Rest the joint as much as possible. Use a walking stick or cane as needed. Wrap it with an ACE bandage. It takes a week or so to heal if it's not a severe sprain. See your MD as needed if not gradually improving.

If you have concerns I would seek medical attention. Ankle injuries can be difficult and complex. Ice for a24-48 hours then contrast bath after. Hot cold soaks. Protection from reinjuring the ankle is possible. For stability a boot or supportive wrap. Ibuprofen or Aleve. Crutches if unable to support weight.
