At the third trimester not uncommon for the fetus to be positioned over the blood vessels going and coming to the lower legs . This can cause swelling. Feet will also fatten during this period due to elastin hormone which affects the tailor navicular ligament which bears weight. This will cause a flattening of the arch and can place abnormal stress to other areas.
