The gold standard in medical research is a "Double-Blinded, randomized controlled study." This study is retrospective, population-based cohort study done in China, and may not be easily generalizable to the US population. The Hazard ratios (HR) are statistically significant but reported to be small (1.1 with CVD, 1.12 in CHD).
