A member asked:

29yrs. male. have osteoarthritis. taking physiotherapy. can glucosamine tablets help me? or do any medicines help me to regrow the cartilage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: There are no medicines currently that help regrow cartilage. Glucosamine helps to promote heatlhy cartilage and the cells that produce the fluid in the joints, which can help improve symptoms of osteoarthritis. However, at this time there is no way to regrow hyaline cartilage (which is the smooth type on the surfaces of joints).
