The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for Vitamin A is measured in retinol activity equivalents (RAE). 1 RAE = 1 microgram retinol, or 3.3 IU. For adult males, the RDA is 3000 IU (900 micrograms) per day. For adult females, the RDA is 2300 IU (700 micrograms) per day.

900 mcgm men 700 women: is not advised as pill because over time accumulates too much. Is easy to get healthy amounts by include liver, fish, eggs milk plus leafy greens orange fruits and vegetable like sweet potatoes carrots squash. These foods will give correct nutritional amounts of other important nutrients. Avoid processed/junk foods that supplant these health forces/waste eating opportunity.
