Ive been feeling heat in calf muscle of left leg occasionally lasting for a few minutes. some pain accompanies heat. ive gained about 35 lbs in past 6 months. is this related?

You should get an ultrasound of that leg to make sure you don’t have a blood clot. Are you active-walking every day? If you are, a blood clot is less likely. Is the area red at all? Skin infection, like cellulitis, can have similar symptoms. You should see your primary care doctor for evaluation and treatment. Good luck to you!

Agree with Dr. Ferranti. Obesity is a common cause of cellulitis without a visible portal of entry for infection. Blood clots in the veins are also more common in obese persons. Losing weight, not easy, is imperative. Wish you good health!
