Can i drink alcohol during the holidays while on the medication eliquis for my blood clot? i solely got the clot due to a 20 hour flight/being on apri at the time and have since stopped taking that form of birth control?

Unfortunately, the manufacturer of Eliquis (Apixiban) lists alcohol use as a risk factor for increased bleeding/hemorrhaging while on anticoagulation. I imagine this to include heavier menstrual cycles. If Apri is the provoking factor for the blood clot, any and all forms of estrogen should be avoided. Continued contraception with progesterone-only containing methods are advised.
