White gums with a bad odor in a teething child cause?

Lots of possible causes. The Amer Dent Assoc, Amer Acad of Pediatric Dentists, & Amer Assoc of Orthodontists all recommend (Standard of Care) all recommend that ALL CHILDREN have 1st Dental Examination by 1st b'day. For all the same reasons that your child sees a Pediatrician, take him to a children's Dental specialist, a Pedodontist.

White gingiva could be from the primary teeth trying to erupt as they push through the gingiva. Halitosis can be from so many different factors... consult with the child's pediatrician.
