Gum disease: One possibility is gum disease. The bacteria of gum disease can cause bad breath. Another possibility with or without gum disease is the bacteria of the throat and nose are producing the odor. Diet can be contributing as well as habits such as smoking. In my office we would treat the gum disease or rule it out. 2nd i would prescribe anti bacterial rinse and xylitol gum, starting w small dose.

Dirt: If you have infected teeth/gums, your may have spread of the infection from your oral cavity to your nasal cavity. If it has been more than 6 months since your last professional examination/cleaning, you are overdue. You need assistance to return to optimal health. Please see a Dentist as soon as possible.
