Be on alert for discharge from the penis, especially early in the day, maybe only observed overnight, i.e. not urinating for several hours. Discharge can show up as crusting around the urethral opening or underwear stains. Discharge means urethritis, i.e. an STD if at risk (gonorrhea, chlamydia, or nongonococcal urethritis [NGU]). Even without discharge, see a doctor or clinic if pain continues.
