It's not perfectly normal but it is not quite abnormal. I would suggest a GYN visit if spotting is common but once in while should not be a big deal.

Many girls/women have slightly irregular periods, either lasting different lengths or occurring with different times between them. So what you're experiencing can be normal for you. Changes in exercise level, diet, stress can all affect this. If you're missing periods altogether, and none of those are occurring and you're not pregnant, please discuss with your doctor.
