A member asked:

Just got echocardiogram results what does this mean tricuspid valve vmax 0.7m/s. trace tr. calculated pap 25 mmhg? is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This echocardiographic measurement suggests the presence of borderline pulmonary artery hypertension if the mean PAP is felt to be 25. Trace tricuspid regurgitation is insignificant. This technique of measuring pulmonary artery pressure by calculating tricuspid valve velocity is often inaccurate. I doubt that you have pulmonary artery hypertension unless you have lung disease.
