A member asked:

If a person only had one kidney, could excessive alcohol put stress on or affect the functioning of that one kidney overall?

Alcohol will stress more than the kidney. Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it. It will destroy your brain cells, facilitate development of cancer in many organs, including breast, cause hepatitis, cirrhosis and pancreatitis etc. There is no safe level of alcohol intake. Quit while you are ahead.

Excessive alcohol intake puts stress on the entire body and can cause damage to every organ and system including the kidney.
