A member asked:

Is chlorothiazide used for lead or metal poisoning?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chlorothiazide has diuretic effect, and is not a chelating agent and not likely to be used primarily for lead or metal poisoning unless to promote urinary excretion when combined with a chelating agent. It could cause magnesium and potasium depletion with long term use without adequate replacement.
