Can perforated appendicitis hole close up on its own after two weeks of antibiotics. i was prescribed oral and didn't work so had to take iv antibiotics for two weeks at home?

In the last several years, research has shown antibiotics to be equally effective as surgery for acute appendicitis. However, these results are for non-perforated cases; harder to know effectiveness in this situation. Two weeks or more of IV antibiotics might work, but later surgery still might be recommended. Discuss with your doctors. Good luck.
