Exposed Bone: The area most likely is exposed bone. Possible causes could be exposed lingual tori (nodules of bone on the inside of the lower jaw) as a result of eating certain foods or a recent dental procedure. Bruxism or clenching the teeth can sometimes cause exposed bone in the back of the lower jaw. See your dentist or an OMS for evaluation.
