Liver hemangiomas rarely cause pain or require surgery unless there's bleeding. However estrogen may cause them to enlarge. I recommend consulting an abdominal surgeon with experience in liver surgery for an opinion. You may have to locate one at a department of surgery in a university hospital near you.

Most liver hemangiomas do not cause symptoms. A 27 mm hemangioma is not considered excessively large, but any time there is a change in the size of a hemangioma, it is wise to discuss it with your gastroenterologist. It is not likely that he is hemangioma is the cause of your stomach pain, but your doctor can work through the causes of that pain with you. Good luck.
