A member asked:

I have a incisional hernia for a previous pregnancy (c-section). this hernia does not bother me (asymptomatic) and has not gotten worse over the last 11 years (daughter is 11). do i need to have it repaired before i would get pregnant again?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Certainly the hernia is not a reason not to get pregnant again. Any repair would be more likely to break down during another pregnancy, but on the other hand if unrepaired it might worsen and become more difficult to repair if symptomatic in the future. A consult with a surgeon to discuss this would be useful.
