Finger cut while cooking, still some blood after 1 day, as the cut seems deep. the finger is looking swollen and purple/red in the area of the cut (near nail). using antiseptic cream and gauze. any special action to take? go to the doctor?

Change the dressing daily and keep the wound dry for 3 days. If the swelling and redness are extending to the hand then you should see your doctor. It is not uncommon a deep cut is still oozing blood when changing the bandage after 24 hours. You should use glove when cooking or cleaning to keep the wound dry.
