A member asked:

Been experiencing constant right side pain, got blood work and everything was fine except i had high a/g ratio of 2.7 and low alkaline phosphate of 32. my alkaline phosphate has been dropping every time ive had blood work. should i be concerned?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, alkaline phosphatase is not a concern. Your doctor may wish to check the serum proteins, not just a/g ratio, in a few months. Wish you good health!
